It has been 7 years since I’ve written a blog post here. It’s okay, no one seems to have missed my ramblings. In that time frame, I got married, bought a house, rescued the sweetest dog, changed jobs twice, developed new hobbies and don’t forget the pandemic.
I was focused on house projects, including the ongoing project of restoring our original wood windows. I found a new passion of gardening and growing flowers. I got back into reading consistently like I did as a kid. I was also burnt out from everything else. I didn’t really feel like I had the spirit to make my own work. So I didn’t. My most recent teaching position has been a delight and my creative spirit is back!
I’ve been exploring alternative processes in photography, specifically lumen prints and cyanotypes. My work in these mediums also encompasses flowers I’ve grown in my garden, some I’ve pressed and some are fresh.
I look forward to this next chapter in my creative journey where I actually create.
